Honestly, Strikers plot is fantastic and I would love to have seen how it applied to P3's cast with that theme. Of course, this was proven wrong by the Phantom Thieves who rather than trying to change society in the game, were changing the hearts of the antagonist to help them overcome their own trauma and be the people they wanted to be. When it came to Persona 5 Strikers, EMMA (or the Demiurge) deemed that humanity's true desire was to have no desire as they only propagate pain, struggle and suffering. I completely agree with you in regards to that first part because not only can the influence of Maruki's powers wear off over time, even if he could grant everyone on Earth their idealised reality, they would have nothing left to aspire to or achieve and likely only beckon Erebus forth even faster. While these 2 did make their choices I also have to say that both were Prisoners of Fate both in life and death and while I think bringing them back to life may undermine that premise, leaving them to an eternal fate would also be a complete disservice to these guys and the effect they had on others.īut what do you guys think? Is FES a saint or sinner? Did it remove the dramatic impact of Persona 3, or did it reaffirm it? When it comes to the second point of Makoto (or FEMC) returning or having their Souls freed, I personally think every entry in the series since the original Persona 3 (including it's 2 definitive versions) have pushed this idea either by continuing the story outright such as in P4 and P4 Arena or in FEMC's case framing her a sympathetic character who people want to save. I'd also make a case that had the events of "The Answer" occurred within Persona 3 Portable I'd argue it would've been pretty callous had the SEES Team "moved-on" without a second thought especially in regards to how profoundly FEMC effected Akihiko and Shinji's storyline. In my opinion, it doesn't undermine the games theme at all but rather reinforces it. In that context, I think her desires are completely understandable as someone who's dealt with grief myself it hurts like hell and I honestly feel if someone really did have that profound of an impact on me and who I was I'd struggle with it too. Personally my own take is that while Yukari is being completely irrational, she's also grieving for someone whom she clearly loves and never got the chance to say goodbye. He cites this as being the main reason people likely dislike Yukari, when as far as I'm aware this is actually one area of the game in which people love Yukari. As well as Mitsuru reinforcing her beliefs saying something among the lines of Yukari was character assassinated to bring forth the internal conflict within the answer undermining the decisions she and her friends made in Persona 3. In regards to the former Nam seems to suggest that Yukari being opposed to her team mates wishes by harbouring a desire to want to see Makoto again as making her look like a damn fool. The fact FES suggests that Makoto can indeed come back to life.Yukari's irrational desire to want to see Makoto again.Nonetheless he bought up 2 points during his review of "The Answer" that he states undermines Persona 3's original ending and I wanted to get the audience take on these as well because personally I think it's one of the most divisive subjects in the series. As a result I was lead to the channel of YouTuber Nams Compendium who's covered extensive reviews of almost every game in the series, he covers a lot of stuff and generally has good content though I do honestly feel his reviews do skim over certain details like character development or interaction, in favour of going in on the broad strokes over larger story. With the Persona 3 Remaster announcement on the horizon and all the divisive opinion regarding FES Vs Portable I've found myself really wanting to dive back into to Persona 3 not only by diving back into it but trying to get opinion on what fans love and dislike about the game.
